In January 1994 Leila Fisher sold her restaurant to start something much more challenging – a career in film. Working on everything from features to animation, she found real joy in commercial production and has worked for some of the top commercial production houses with famous brands and directors. In 1999 she packed her bags and moved to Cape Town where she started her own production company, Visual Kitchen. In 2003 she directed her first short Birds, Bees and Advertising. This won a craft award in South Africa. She is currently directing commercials and has recently directed for MTV Europe.

Leila is also deeply committed to several CSR initiatives, especially creating educational awareness for HIV and AIDS. In 2003 she produced an award winning 60 sec Aids awareness film called Beautiful.
