Lex Brand started out as a photographer, but after shooting a few commercials got a taste for cinematography. He worked for quite some time as a director and d.o.p. He also had his own production company in Amsterdam, but after a while he realised his big love was the camera. He works in all genres and enjoys the constant change and variety of people. In 2006 he was nominated for best cinematography A Thousand Kisses and in 2008 the national blockbuster Love is All. For both films he was nominated for a Golden Calf.
